Rapper 50 Cent



Curtis James Jackson III was born on July 6, 1975 in Queens, United States. Curtis grew up in South Side Jamaica a bad neighborhood in Queens. He was raised until he was 8 years old by his mother Sabrina. She was murdered in 1984, after her death Curtis moved to his grandparents who raised him. At first Curtis wanted to be a professional boxer but he wasn’t good enough.

50 Cent’s youth

At the age of 12, Curtis started dealing drugs after meeting drugs dealers and being friend with people that had a bad influence on him. He started to steal and selling crack on the streets under the name Boo-Boo. Later he adopted the name 50 Cent from one of the biggest drug dealers from Queens. Curtis career as a rapper started when he signed a record deal with the label of Jam Master Jay he learned there how to be a good rapper.

Break through 50 Cent

On the set of shooting the clip of 50 Cent’s song “Thug Love” with Destiny Child was a shooting and the people of Colombia Records directly cut off all bands with 50 Cent at their label, after just signing a deal in 1999. His big break through was his hit “How To Rob” were he raps about how to steal money of rappers: Jay-Z, Sticky Fingaz, Big Pun and GhostfaceKillah. This resulted in a beef with 50 Cent. His career just started and he already made enemies and not so many friends.
On May 24 2000 50 Cent went by the house of his grandmother to pay her a visit. Former drug colleagues saw 50 Cent and shot 9 bullets to the rapper. One of the bullets was stock in the tongue of Curtis and he almost chocked to death. It took months for him to get better. A couple weeks after the shooting the man who shot the bullets to 50 Cent was killed, they never found the shooter.
